Position Description: The Compliance Officer will assist with the maintenance and further development of the corporate governance, compliance and risk management structure within the Trust Department. Provide daily guidance and support to the assigned business unit(s) within the Trust Department as needed to identify and resolve legal, compliance and/or risk management issues. Provide general legal and compliance support to the Manager, Trust Legal & Compliance.
Principal Accountabilities: Aid in the drafting and/or revision of applicable Trust policies, standards, procedures, committee charters and minutes. Participate as member of applicable committees and other formal meeting groups as needed in various roles. Assist team with preparation of internal compliance and risk management reports, regulatory reports, internal testing, research and internal projects as needed. Assist applicable business units with various Trust internal audit and regulatory exams as well as required responses/action plans. Maintain a strong knowledge of applicable current or changing laws and regulations and assist with preparation of applicable Trust compliance training materials.
Position Requirements: Bachelors degree with a minimum of 5 years experience in financial services to include compliance, legal, audit/assessment, branch management or commercial banking/business banking required. -Or- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years experience in financial services to include compliance, audit/assessment, branch management or commercial banking/business banking required.
Additional Requirements: Must be actively licensed to practice law in at least one state as well as be a member in good standing with the applicable state bar(s). Exceptional writing skills, proficiency with various trust-related systems/computer applications and attention to detail.
