Primary Purpose of Position
The School of Business at North Carolina Central University seeks highly-qualified
applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of
Computer Information Systems (CIS) in areas of Cybersecurity, Networking, Database
Systems, Software Development and Project Management. The Department of
Computer Information Systems’ signature program is a bachelor’s degree in information
technology, with concentrations in information communication and technology,
cybersecurity and data analytics. Faculty within the unit consistently seek to integrate
innovative teaching and research to engage students in real world classroom
experiences.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of computer information systems,
effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to produce scholarly
publications. The successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to work as part of
a team and develop productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders, a
commitment to overall high standards and professional integrity. Experience using
instructional technology, and the capacity to engage students in their teaching. All areas
of specialization are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Education/Experience
The qualified candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in Information Systems or a related
field from an AACSB accredited program or equally relevant accredited program in a
related discipline. Additional industry or entrepreneurial experience is useful and
experience in grantsmanship is a plus.

Information Systems. Prepared to teach in face-to-face and online environments and
have evidence of teaching effectiveness.

School to meet current AACSB International accreditation standards.
