Generac Clean Energy Solutions (GCES) is seeking a highly motivated Integration Test Technician III to support the development of specialized test equipment for Generac's next-generation renewable energy products. You will build electrical and mechanical systems for executing safe and repeatable tests from component to system level. You will work closely with the hardware and firmware engineering teams to understand requirements at our facility in South Portland, ME.
Responsibilities
- Install, test, and troubleshoot battery and inverter systems in a laboratory environment
- Create and wire custom test fixtures/jigs
- Create bill of materials, procedures, wiring diagrams and supporting documentation for test fixtures
- Lead inventory procurement process for all test systems based on BOM.
- Collaborate with on-site and remote team members
- Populate, modify and test printed circuit boards (SMT and through hole components) and cable assemblies
- Execute reliability and compliance testing
- Work independently to meet project deadlines
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Own logistics to deploy test systems at various facilities.
- Actively participate in the daily maintenance of the lab environment.
- Associate's degree or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 3+ years of experience in an engineering development environment.
- Experience operating and maintaining a wide variety of hand and power tools, and lab equipment.
- High voltage and high-power experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of inventory systems such as SAP or equivalent.
- Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity of work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be engaged, proactive, and positive when taking on challenging tasks, owning assignments, and taking accountability for personal and overall team success.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use their hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, stoop, crouch, bend, and reach above the shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields for required tasks, and closed-toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies.
