Position Summary | The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level to develop a research program in health services, health informatics, health quality and/or outcomes within the UNC Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health (http://www.med.unc.edu/psych/cecmh). The Center provides a continuum of multi-disciplinary, recovery-based care to persons with serious mental illness in central North Carolina and has several innovative programs including a specialty medical home for persons with chronic mental illness, a state-wide technical assistance program for assertive community treatment (ACT) teams and supported employment programs, and programs for justice-involved individuals. The successful candidate will develop an independent research program, provide mentorship for trainees, and participate in multi-disciplinary collaboration within the Center and department of Psychiatry, and with other departments and schools within UNC, government organizations, and the private sector. There is an opportunity for joint appointment at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research (https://www.shepscenter.unc.edu). |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Applicants must hold an MD/DO, MD/PhD or PhD. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | The core requirements for this position are: (1) a research focus on health services and/or informatics related to mental health services, policy and/or management; (2) strong research skills with a relevant publication record in peer-reviewed journals; (3) strong record of grant-funded scholarship with experience as a principal investigator or collaborator on externally-funded research (Associate level) or indication of the potential for obtaining research funding (Assistant level). |
