To strengthen our Patient Safety & Medical Management team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: External Research & Collaborations Lead

As an External Research & Collaborations Lead you will be responsible for ensuring that the framework and processes to review global external research opportunities are aligned to industry best practice and UCB strategies (e.g., evidence generation needs, corporate strategy, etc.) and generate value for UCB, healthcare stakeholders, caregivers and ultimately for patients.

You like to work in an environment where you can:
* Provide external research opportunities include service agreements, investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and collaborations with healthcare stakeholders
* Drive alignment to UCB Medical and/or Integrated Evidence Generation Strategy(ies) as well as regulatory and compliance requirements
* Contribute to the development of formal processes, guidance documents, training, templates and other key requirements to ensure a robust process is implemented and adhered to
* Lead internal and external meetings, including the review committee meetings, collaboration or contract negotiations with external stakeholders, including identification of stakeholders to ensure alignment and consensus on research opportunities

You will contribute by:
* Leading the contracting for research opportunities, including drafting of the contracts, determining relevant complex contracting elements for inclusion (e.g., IP / study results ownership, data privacy, data security, pharmacovigilance obligations and requirements, etc.) and coordinates with key internal experts where needed
* Performing quality review of proposed budgets and the fair market value assessments conducted to ensure appropriate compliance with also specific budget elements
* Managing stakeholder mapping and collaborates with internal stakeholders, including medical, PVU, legal, compliance and other parts of the organization to understand and help drive research needs
* Overseeing the disbursement of drug supply to researcher(s) where relevant, including coordination of product supply requests with relevant functions and maintains records on lot/batch/expiry information of UCB products released to study sites

Interested? For this position you'll need the following education, experience and skills:
* Bachelor's degree
* Must have experience in a cross-functional lead role or equivalent within R&D or Medical Affairs, and specifically with research collaborations.
* Preference for 2+ years of experience within the Pharma / Biotech industry focused on external research opportunities such as collaborations, including contracting and oversight
