Position Summary
Hematology Faculty Position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Division of Hematology, Department of Medicine in conjunction with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking to recruit a faculty member to join the growing Myeloma Research Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This is an Open Rank faculty position. Career track and rank will be dependent upon experience and credentials. While there is no particular area of research involving myeloma biology that is required, successful candidates will have a proven track record of performing clinical/translational research in patients with multiple myeloma, amyloidosis and/or lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma. An additional area of interest would be outcomes research in patients with multiple myeloma. Responsibilities will include patient care, clinical/ translational research, participation in multi-disciplinary conferences and teaching.

As this is an open rank posting, the candidate hired into this position could be hired into a fixed term, variable track or tenure track faculty appointment at any academic rank.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD/DO or equivalent and board certified or board eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preferred skills for this position include effective interprofessional collaboration and teamwork, and excellent clinical communication skills relevant to serious illness care. Candidates should have experience in clinical trials and have a translational research interest in studies that seeks to improve the outcome of patients with lymphoma. This could include clinical trials research, biomarker studies that predict or provide a prognosis of response to therapy or interest in clinical/translational research focusing on lymphoma genomics or immunotherapy. The successful candidate for this open rank faculty position in the Division of Hematology will have clinical expertise and research experience. Qualified candidates will possess broad medical knowledge and demonstrate excellence in medical practice.
