NV5 is seeking a Transportation Assistant Engineer for our Cary or Charlotte, NC locations. The Transportation EI will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance for the Transportation Design group. The ideal candidate will provide design support and be able to complete assigned projects on time and within budget. The most frequent and essential work activities include:

Complete roadway design plans under the direct supervision of a professional engineer.
• Work alone and in small groups.
• Use MicroStation and GeoPak software.

Prerequisites for employment include:

• BS in Civil Engineering
• 0-3 years of previous roadway design or other transportation engineering experience
• EI Certification a plus (at minimum-FE exam should be scheduled)
• Knowledge of Microstation and GeoPak software a plus
• Must be willing to travel on occasion
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment is preferred

• Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required.
• Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
