WORKSITE LOCATION: Raleigh, NC

JOB DUTIES:

Design 2D and 3D Fire sprinkler systems in coordination with owners' specifications to ensure compliance with all applicable NFPA standards and local codes. High Rise buildings, Apartment complexes, Warehouses, In-rack storage systems. Assist design manager with reviewing submittal drawings and fabrication lists to ensure accuracy. Train design trainees in all applicable aspects of the protection. (ex. Assist with fire hydrant operation and flow testing, help with learning a new programs and understanding new design concepts). Take part in weekly construction progress meetings with the General contractor, Architect, and other subcontractors throughout the entire duration of the project. Design alternate means and methods by consulting NFPA and local codes to come up with solutions to design obstacles. Prepare shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals for review by Architects, Engineers and Authority Having Jurisdiction. Coordinate sprinkler system design using 3D modeling in new and existing structures with architects and other MEP trades. Compile stock lists and material requisitions for the installation of Fire Sprinkler systems along with installation prints. Lead project kick-off meetings with Forman, Superintendent and project manager before the field work begins.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Fire Protection Engineering Technology Diploma plus 4 years of experience as a Senior Sprinkler Designer or any related occupation

OFFERED SALARY: $64,605/Year
