To continue to perform and grow our traffic safety services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Senior Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic safety experience and knowledge. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office.

Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:

• Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic and Transportation
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles and analyses required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
• Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of projects
• Demonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
• Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
• Deliver technical projects and reports

We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:

• BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent
• Professional registration preferred (not required)
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus
• 10-15 years' experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferred
• Traffic safety analysis experience preferred
• Knowledge of NCDOT TEAAS program preferred
• Signal design, signal timing plan development, signing plan development, and/or traffic control experience a plus
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
• Experience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, GIS, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, TransModeler, Synchro, TransCAD, etc.)
