Job Description

Dewberry have several experienced water and wastewater (W/WW) senior engineers and we're looking to develop new talent to support our growing team. The MEPS Infrastructure group will work with you to develop your skills, experience, and technical background to become a leading engineer in your field. Dewberry is seeking an Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer for our Raleigh, NC office to specialize in W/WW projects. The successful candidate should have experience specifying, designing, and implementing process instrumentations and control systems. Experience in WW/W is preferred however industrial, chemical, and mining experience is acceptable.

You will be joining a team of highly skilled, experience, and dedicated electrical professionals focus on designing the electrical infrastructure that interconnects your healthcare, higher education, and federal campuses. At Dewberry you will develop your technical knowledge in microgrids, medium voltage distribution, SCADA, and power system studies as you execute a full range of services to our national clients. As part of the MEPS Infrastructure electrical team you will shape the impact renewable energy is utilized by our client in meeting their decarbonization and electrification goals. Your design will combine co-generation, solar generation, battery energy store systems, and complex control system to improve the reliability of our nation's infrastructure.

Responsibilities
    Provide instrumentation and control system engineering and design for water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare instrumentation and control system specifications, drawings, and cost estimate for projects.
  • Review and approve documentation developed by contractors.
  • Coordinate with process engineers and develop Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Develop design documentation for control systems including loops sheets, control single lines, and network drawings for SCADA, PLC, and DCS Systems.
  • Coordinate with senior engineering staff to successfully execute electrical designs.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • BS in electrical, controls or chemical engineering preferred, technology industry related degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7 years of design or WW/W operation experience or industrial projects.
  • EIT is preferred.
  • Must have experience designing I&C systems and producing design documents in AutoCAD. Revit experience would be preferred.
  • Control system networking experience would be preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Candidate must have a good working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Codes, and other related Codes.
  • Good verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface.
