Essential Job Duties | This position will coordinate turfgrass extension and field research activities in eastern North Carolina and support the statewide extension turfgrass program. Primary duties include:
This position is expected to support (presenting, organizing the program, coordinating logistics, securing speakers, etc.) turfgrass outreach events such as field days, regional conferences, etc. in all sectors of turfgrass including, but not limited to, golf courses, sod production, residential and commercial lawns, and athletic fields. This is a 'bridge' position that will ensure that research in the turfgrass area is focused on areas of practical importance and that research results are transferred to county extension agents, industry practitioners, and the public. Other Responsibilities | This person will be expected to attend professional meetings at the regional, state, and national levels to maintain updated knowledge of emerging turfgrass management strategies and contribute presentations on the experimental results being generated in eastern NC field research programs. |
