Job Summary:

Mechanical Operations Technician will operate, adjust, calibrate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, mix chemicals, and assist with the development, testing and inspection of products during the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a background in a production environment with an emphasis on machine calibration and troubleshooting. The ability to read schematics and interpret technical documentation. The production electronics technician will work alongside chemists, quality staff, production team, and engineers while reporting to the manufacturing supervisor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Interpret schematics and assembly diagrams and apply the knowledge in the troubleshooting and repair of product and processes.

  • Responsible for approving the development of fixtures in MFG

  • Responsible for set up, cleaning and inspection of machines

  • Responsible for maintenance of tools and certain fixtures in MFG

  • Work with MFG engineers in the development of new automation processes

  • Prepare documentation of machine processes and new set up releases

  • Provide training to new setup technicians and lesser qualified technicians when necessary

  • Organize routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance.

  • Research projects and educate self on relative production technologies

  • Communicate with Engineering, Materials/Manufacturing Managers, and Process Technicians to inform them of any potential impact to schedule

  • Screws, solders, cements, press fits, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.

  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on a printed circuit board.

  • Data collection as required

  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases with understanding of test procedures.

  • Ensures the immediate work area is always clean, well-organized and free from potential safety hazards


Experience and Skills

Skills/Abilities:

  • Preferred background in machine operation and production environment

  • Ability to precisely assemble components

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and tracking skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Effective communication skills

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree (or equivalent) in a technical field preferred
