Responsibilities include leading data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to soil density, concrete, asphalt, and earthwork. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • NCDOT Certifications
  • ITS Experience
  • ICC Certifications

AND one of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
  • An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience
  • No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience

Ideal candidates will have experience with any/all of the following:

  • Leading inspectors performing highway materials sampling and testing
  • Oversight of interpretation of plans, drawings and specifications as relates to construction field tasks
  • SiteManager or other construction software
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
