This position is part of Novanta's ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world's leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Summary

As an Assembler I, you will be responsible for assembling products according to specifications. You will also need to ensure that the quality control standards are met.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting assembly instructions, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Assembling components or sub-assemblies using appropriate tools and following specific guidelines and procedures
  • Inspecting parts for defects or damage
  • Following safety protocols and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Use hand tools such as wrenches, T-handles, utility knives, and other similar tools.
  • Operate power tools and hydraulic press.
  • Apply lubricants and other treatments to assembled products to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of the machinery during and after the assembly process to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Clean and organize workspace and assembly areas.
  • Properly store equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Report any machinery malfunctions, damaged parts, or other issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals on schedule.
  • Install electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical components and connect them properly.
  • Conduct inspections of parts and finished products, identify any defects, and document quality issues.
  • Follow assembly instructions precisely to construct machinery and equipment.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Be able to read, interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and schematics
  • Be able to use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Have experience in manufacturing or a desire to learn, along with consistent attention to detail
  • Be able to follow safety procedures and guidelines
