Position Summary

As Admissions Communication Associate, this position will be tasked with conveying the value proposition of the Gillings School. This will include constructing consistent and thoughtful messaging to increase potential student engagement from prospect through matriculation, leveraging the richness of our Gillings students, faculty, staff, and alumni in storytelling. A critical component of this work is to support the Gillings communications mission by executing the Gillings enrollment marketing strategy. This position will provide guidance and collaborate with others across the school to develop a strategic and creative marketing and communications campaign that is consistent with the mission for all aspects of graduate (master's and doctoral) and undergraduate, Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH), enrollment management. Specifically, the development of our enrollment marketing strategy will require the position to work with thought leaders in the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) as well as conduct market and peer research, relevant to the development and execution of efforts that deliver effective, culturally appropriate communication to prospective students.
This position will also: cultivate data-driven, high-impact, and results-oriented marketing practices to enroll an increasingly high-achieving and diverse student body; strengthen partnerships through the development of multi-year messaging designed to generate a diverse applicant pool, manage enrollment, and support students through matriculation; and assist with pipeline development and outreach to community partners. Further, this position will establish metrics-oriented accountability through analytics to ensure continuous improvement of activities and alignment with enrollment goals.
The Admissions Communication Associate will leverage technology (e.g., Slate, SOPHAS, etc.) using a variety of platforms and mediums including email drip nurture campaigns, social media, and web design/development integration. This position will also be expected to manage several multifaceted, specialized projects simultaneously, providing visionary and operational leadership in communication strategy and implementation for recruitment, enrollment, financial aid, and new student transition through initiatives that are contemporary, on brand message, relevant, and serve to provide greater visibility of the Gillings School to prospective students. This position has a dual report structure, reporting to the Associate Dean for Communications and Marketing and the Director of Admissions.
