$4000.00 sign on bonus.

$2,000.00 after 90 days, $2,000.00 after 180 days.



Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of medical care for residents in our 10 bed LTSR psychiatric residence. The Nurse Manager provides supervision and oversight of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and trained medical technicians. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

Essential Duties and Functions


Supervisory

  • Responsible for the supervision of LPNs and med tech staff.
  • Meet regularly with and provide supervision to each nursing employee to provide skill training and mentoring that supports staff development and document and address any identified needs for improvement at least one time per month.
  • Act as an integral part of a three-person Leadership Team with Director and Assistant Director.
  • Cover on-call phone every 3-4 weeks. (Average 1-2 calls/week.)
  • Completes regular supervisory meetings and annual performance appraisals as needed.
  • Act as part of a multidisciplinary team (case manager, therapists, CPS, community residential staff/direct service providers, cook, fiscal administrator) designed to provide services from a holistic and values-based perspective.

Administrative

  • Manage the nursing scheduling including all callouts, no-shows and time-off requests to provide appropriate coverage as needed.
  • Develops appropriate nursing/ medical policy and procedures, as well as necessary nursing protocols to ensure the health and safety of the consumers supported.
  • Develops and improves upon daily assessment forms, nursing notes, etc as necessary and required to promote communication and quality services.
  • Performs chart audits to ensure that staff documentation is accurately reflecting the medical/ behavioral health statuses of our individuals.

Direct Care

  • Accepts and implements Doctor's orders for individuals.
  • Oversees and manages the ordering/delivery/storage/administration of medications for our residents.
  • Oversee the medical and psychiatric health needs of the individuals served by facilitating communication among members of their treatment team.
  • Assess and respond to new/potential/ ongoing health issues in persons served.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate one health-related group per week.
  • Working hours M-F 7:00-3:00pm or 7:30-3:30pm
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current license as Registered Nurse
  • 3-5 years' experience working with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, co-occurring diagnosis of behavioral health and addiction disorders, homelessness, community support services, group residential facilities or similar patient populations.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a supervisor role, preferably in a clinical or community-based medical setting
  • FBI clearance, as needed
  • All trainings required by licensure

  • Medium: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
