About the Department | As the largest department within the Facilities Division, Facilities Operations services the University's 10 million square feet of teaching, research and administrative space and 2,440 acres of grounds and transportation infrastructure. Using 885+ budgeted positions and an annual budget of $57,000,000, Facilities Operations provides maintenance, custodial services, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services for most of the University. |
Essential Job Duties | This is a highly skilled worker with a proficiency in plumbing installation, repair, maintenance, and pipe fitting, along with a working knowledge of secondary electrical systems and equipment generally falling under the heading of HVAC. Work is performed on all related plumbing and piping systems to include but are not limited to potable water, non-potable water, domestic waste drainage systems, lab and acid waste drainage systems, building sewers, heating hot water piping systems, steam piping systems, chilled water piping, compressed air piping, natural gas piping, and all associated fixtures, equipment and appurtenances of systems to be maintained. |
