ERG is looking for a transportation health impacts expert for a part time advisory role in our organization. The individual will provide technical expertise in developing written reports and guidance that can be implemented by environmental professionals and policymakers, urban and transportation planners, academics, and community leaders to quantify the health benefits of implementing transportation. This hire will work with ERG's transportation team along with government, academic, and industry groups in executing transportation health impacts tasks. This is a remote position with no anticipated travel (currently). This is a part-time as needed position with compensation provided on an hourly basis.
Job Description
  • Provide technical input in developing written reports and guidance that can be implemented by environmental professionals and policymakers, urban and transportation planners, academics, and community leaders to quantify the health benefits of implementing transportation emissions control programs on air quality and human health at the local scale
  • Provide technical input in developing and complying by all QA/QC requirements, including development of QAPP documentation, and supporting materials for transportation health impacts projects
  • Providing technical expertise in developing reports and guidance including detailing the methods, key modeling parameters, and techniques of conducting a local-scale benefits assessment for transportation mitigation policies
Qualifications and Skills
  • PhD in Transportation Engineering or related field
  • 10-20 years of experience in transportation health impacts projects
  • Significant academic experience including academic research or teaching positions
  • Significant publications record (20+) on transportation health impacts research
  • Demonstrated (5+ years) expert peer review experience
  • Prior experience in working with the EPA in supporting transportation health impacts projects
  • Capability to pass background checks and initial and random drug screening
  • Experience with writing technical documents
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
